Buzzcation is a “tweet up” that grew to a phenomena as it began to regularly attract over 100 people per event and have exceeded 200 on several occasions. It is another real life example of how powerful Twitter can be. After the success of Twittamentary's Tour in Cinequest and SXSW, we are continuing on the community screenings and the next one is a private screening for Google Singapore. 

It will be on Friday, March 30th, from 4-5:30 at Verdana. The director, @sioksiok and producer, @stjohndeakins and also the professor, @communicateasia who wrote the Twittamentary Case Study will be present at the screening to answer any questions asked. @sioksiok will be joining through a Google + Hangout.

I have been working on the Twittamentary project for close to 3 years and this past week has been one of the most exciting.  Not only did the film make its debut at the Cinequest Film Festival in the Silicon Valley on Mar 3rd, we also had 11 screenings around the world. Most of these events are community screenings hosted by Twitter'ers who want to share the film with their tribe.

Our next stop is SXSW interactive. We will have screenings on Mar 9 at 2:30pm and Mar 13 at 3pm at the Alcatel-Lucent Trends Lounge, one of the hotspots for SXSWi action.  Tickets are running out fast, so grab them here! 

I will be speaking on the panel for the mini 140 characters conference on Mar 12 3-6pm. 

We will also doing smaller, more spontaneous 'pop-up' screenings on the fringes of SXSWi so watch out for a flash mob on the #twittamentary hashtag.

Did you know that while @Twittamentary was being made, a Singaporean professor at the Singapore Management University was following it religiously and writing it up into a case study? And now, with #twittamentary finished with its final cut, the professor and university is holding community screenings for their students which is also open to a lucky few non-students! The Case Study is being used for not only the undergraduates but also MBA students in SMU!

Are you interested in Twitter? Are you interested in improv performances? If it's a yes to either, you will be glad to know that on the 18^th of February, there will be a screening of Twittamentary followed by a performance of TweetLife, a social media improv show.  In TweetLife, The players follow the tweets of a volunteer or sometimes a celebrity. They use these tweets to inspire their improv performances. One of the main players of TweetLife Mike Dwyer @cruiter and Matt Barbera are also stars in one of the vignettes featured in Twittamentary! It will be a night to remember.

Some big news for @twittamentary followers is that our film and director @sioksiok was just featured on the latest Sunday Times paper, one of the biggest source of media in the UK. We're very honoured to have been featured and we'd like to annouce that this is just the beginning of even greater things for Twittamentary in 2012!

Hello Twittamentary followers! Here’re some updates on whats been going on and whats to come! As you all know, we sent out a call for community screenings, in the previous blog post. As of this month, most of our community screenings will be taking place during Social Media Week February 2012.

We have secured screenings in London, Miami, New York and Singapore. We are also in the process of securing screenings in Hamburg and Sao Paulo.

London, England

Did you know that one of the most active twitter cities in the world is London? For those living in London or any of the cities around it, how about bringing your twitter savvy friends for a screening of Twittamentary at the Innovation Warehouse on February 17th! Details as follows:

Twittamentary has been a film about community from the beginning.  When we were developing the film, Twitter users contributed story ideas and visual material.  Then they helped organiz 14 beta screenings on 3 different continents and shared valuable feedback that shaped the final cut of the film. 

Over the past year, we have received many requests from people across the world, offering to host film screenings.  So we are thrilled to announce an open call for community screenings to take place between Feb 1 and May 1st 2012.

If you'd like to host a screening, just drop an email to us:

Content: Where and when you intend to screen the film and how you'd meet the guidelines of screening.

Setting up a screening is not hard at all. 

You need to set up a dual screen projection, with a live twitter wall to go with the movie playback. 

The screening has to be open to the public and free of charge. If you'd like to charge for food and beverages, please keep admission to 10 USD per person or less.

You need to gather at least 20 people for the screening.

Happy New Year to all who follow @twittamentary! Its been two weeks now into 2012 and we’re very excited with all the things that's happening with and are to come for Twittamentary! Here’s an update for everyone to know more about what’s going on with us.

The film Twittamentary has recently been selected to be screened at Cinequest Film Festival 22, where creativity meets innovation. The festival is from February 28th-March 11th, 2012, in San Jose, CA, the capital of Silicon Valley. Twittamentary’s screening dates are on Saturday, March 3rd at 9:00PM, Sunday, March 4th at 4:30PM and Friday, March 9th at 1:00PM.

Cinequest Film Festival is an annual independent film festival that highlights the work of new film makers. Its produced by Cinequest, a nonprofit 501©3 institute. It was founded by Kathleen Powell and Halfdan Hussey in 1990. The festival has only been around for 22 years but to this day it has grown to be an eleven-day event showing over 150 films and attracting over 80 000 attendees.

We feel very lucky and very honored to be part of this prestigious event and we thank you all for your support and hope the followers of @twittamentary continue to support us! This is very exciting news for everyone!
