Twittamentary has confirmed ReadWriteWeb to be a media partner ReadWriteWeb, one of the most widely read and respected blogs in the world, has signed on as media partner for Twittamentary, an upcoming twitter documentary directed by Singaporean filmmaker Siok Siok Tan. Founded by Richard MacManus in April 2003 and is written by a team of Web enthusiasts, ReadWriteWeb provides Web Technology news, reviews and analysis and is one of the world's top 20 most popular blogs according to Technorati.
Richard MacManus, founder of ReadWriteWeb says, "I look forward to seeing the results of this documentary, as Twitter has become a phenomenon this year and is changing the communications and media landscape."
ReadWriteWeb will help publicize key events in the production cycle of Twittamentary, for example, Call for Submissions, a 24 hour storytelling event and the eventual World Premiere.
Siok Siok Tan, director of Twittamentary, says, "We are thrilled that ReadWriteWeb has agreed to be one of our media partners. Their participation lends immediate credibility to the film project and it also gives a huge boost to our efforts to reach out to Twitter users."
Twittamentary invites contributions from Twitter users. The movie website is therefore a highly interactive platform for Twitter users to share their stories, contribute ideas and even add videos to enrich the documentary content.
Twittamentary has received a warm response since the announcement of the project. Famous blogger Shel Israel and author of new book Twitterville has also reported it on his own blog. According to Israel, "This, seems to me, expands the definition of Global Neighborhoods."
