The first time somebody really caught my attention with Twitter was when Mitch Joel, of Six Pixels of Separation, created the BizBookReview. In Mitch's own words, "The idea is simple: use the existing Twitter platform as a place, community and location to post 140 character (or less) business and motivational book reviews." I was struck by this because I have always admired novels as a brilliant form of human interaction, and Twitter to some degree seems to be turning this long-form communication on its head. I wondered how we could merely "snack" about the human condition, leadership challenges, branding, and more. Mitch created ina me a curiosity about Twitter which did not previously exist. This curiosity came about not because of Twitter itself, but because he challenged my notions of where and how we can communicate about the big topics.
