The Red Shoe Project (www.redshoeproject.org) is run by @theredrecruiter and aims to prove that helping non-profits can be both fun and beneficial. With a deserving cause and some creativity - @theredrecruiter, Michael Long, wears red shoes EVERY day - spreading awareness is much more achievable than in the past.
RedShoe Project also recognizes that everyone has a different level of contribution that they are either willing or able to make…and that’s okay! If you can't write a check, you can get involved by simply submitting a picture! Each year the Red Shoe Project identifies a worthy cause - this year they are supporting My New Red Shoes in San Francisco. This wonderful organization contributes to society by clothing underprivileged children for their first day of school. They give children a sense of pride… and we all know how important that is. For a period of one year from April 2009, the Red Shoe Project, will focus on raising awareness for My New Red Shoes. The goal is to significantly increase the amount of exposure that this deserving organization receives.
Their approach is easy and FUN!! To participate, simply take the most creative picture you can in a pair of red shoes! The pictures appear in a photo stream on their site, with highlights tweeted by @theredrecruiter. I would love for you to do a story on @theredrecruiter and the Red Shoe Project.
