I'm so honored that @ChicagoDiane nominated us for #twittamentary! The BEST BEST BEST part of our business is all of the people with whom we've been able to meet, network, and develop relationships.

As a newbie to Chicago and a newbie to the cupcake world, I entered Twitter with much hesitation. I had no idea that it would be a viable interface to meet so many new FRIENDS. Tweetup attendees. SMC members. Networking lunch friends. Jazz at the park. Mani/pedis. Cupcake crawls. Partnership brainstorming sessions. Shoe shopping partners. 5k running buddies. My favorite bands. Other Chicago transplants. Sushi lovers. Chicago natives. The list goes on and on. All since I started Tweeting April 1st, 2009.

And luckily, hopefully, we've been able to give back. We've donated more than 1,000 cupcakes to local charities, events, and fundraisers to help bring awareness to causes that I personally believe in. And I would have never found out about these causes were it not for Twitter.

My life has been truly enriched by the relationships I've made with new friends here. I can't imagine my life without so many of the people I've met over the past 6 months. And @ChicagoDiane is no doubt at the top of that list! She's such an example of a SUPERWOMAN. I hope that one day, I'll be half as awesome. (I just need 2 more kids to catch up.) :)
